Shurato Hidaka (日高 秋亜人 Hidaka Shurato) also known as Shurato, the King Shura (修羅王シュラト Shura-ō Shurato) is the main protagonist of the Tenkuu Senki Shurato series., who wields the Lion Shakti and later the Gryphon Shakti. His powers are based on light and thunder
Character[]
In the first episode it is shown as a young 16-year-old man, who has been taught martial arts by his grandfather and mentor Yutaro since he was a kid. His grandfather also raised and trained his best friend Gai Kuroki.
Although both characters trained together, they obviously differ in personality and fighting styles. While Gai is more prone to concentrating and meditating - as well as having a calmer and more focused fighting tyle - Shurato is hot-headed and foolhardy. However they complement each other, as was stated by his grandfather (when Shurato quoted that the ideal fighter would be a mix of both students' abilities).

Transmigration to Tenkūkai[]
While fighting in a junior martial arts tournament - in which Gai had the upper hand - both of them are surrounded by a strange light, and hear a woman's voice inchanting a mantra . Almost losing to Gai, in the moment they prepare to strike their final blows

,this woman - Vishnu - summons both Shurato and Gai through a mantra to come to the Heaven World through a process called transmigration in which they cease to exist in the Earth and are transported to her spiritual plane.
Arriving at the Tenkūkai, Shurato is asleep on the ground while an unknown girl, Lakshu, is trying to awaken him, which she ultimately does by kissing him. Startled, Shurato starts to wheep as he told her that it was his first kiss, and that he was saving himself for his favorite singer.
Powers and Abilities[]
The Lion Shakti (獅子の神甲冑) is the personal armor of Shurato patterned after the legendary white lion. It uses the powers of light.
